One of my toughest. This is part of what can now be considered as my Birds series and it is becoming harder and harder to keep them original. I worked and reworked that one for the most part of the evening and night, to the point where I just had to shut it down for a few hours. When I took a look at it in the morning, more changes were required to get to the final point where I feel satisfied.

Although this is a digital file to start with, I wanted it to carry the characteristics of my 1913 Kodak 2a which will create 5 to 6 inches long negatives. In order to do that, instead of cropping the image, I stretched the foreground and sky before applying blurs (the original was way too sharp for a 2a image). The frame work was performed in Photoshop CS4, the BW conversion and adjustments in Lightroom 3 Beta 2.

I is very nice outside today, I’ll try to have something new to work on next.
